I believe that music learning is accessible to individuals of all ages, ethnicities, and abilities. Students thrive in positive and engaging classrooms, where the content is tailored to their needs. I reject the notion of a one-size-fits-all approach, preferring to customize class content for both one-on-one sessions and group settings.
I hold a BA in Music Education with a major in piano and a minor in voice from China's prestigious Xinghai Conservatory of Music. Additionally, I have received training in Early Childhood Education and General Business in Canada. My musical journey began at the age of 5, and since then, I have garnered numerous awards and opportunities to perform piano solos, as well as in various ensembles such as 4-hand, two pianos, chamber music, choirs, and orchestras. I have been immersed in a diverse musical environment, participating in activities such as dance, chorus, Chinese big drums, French horn, accordion, Gu Zheng, harmonica, and ukulele. Beyond learning these skills, I have gained performance experience in each. My vocal training started at a young age when I joined my elementary school choir. Throughout my schooling, I consistently participated in choir competitions and performances, exploring various vocal ranges from soprano to mezzo-soprano, and even experimenting with alto and tenor due to my wide vocal range. During my teenage years through university, I received professional one-on-one vocal training, further honing my skills.
I have exceptional ear-training and sight-reading skills. I tested 100% for ear-training when I had my uni entry exam and had been tested high scores on ear-training as well as sight-reading. Therefore, I was able to be accompanist for many choirs and orchestras. I also have fundamental knowledge of Orff and Solfege. I am good at exam taking hence I can definitely help my students score their music exams successfully. In addition, my previous training of Early Childhood Education, business and leadership, complementing my role as a music teacher , can surely lead students of any age , as individual or groups, to their desirable futures.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
