Teaching Philosophy

There really is no better feeling than sitting down with your guitar and playing some tunes. Aside from a sense of accomplishment, it really doesn't get much better than learning your favourite song and being able to play it to your pals or even just for yourself in the mirror. I hope to create a fun environment to get you to where you need to be in terms of learning how to play the guitar and becoming a musician. My job is to create the ideal learning experience unique to you - whether you want to able to play your favourite songs, learn chords, riffs and scales, play along to a recording or jam out with friends. Everyone has different ways they like to learn - so together we will be able to create an environment that best suites your wants and needs in becoming a guitar player. A typical lesson depends on what stage you are at and what you want to learn - as a beginner I will get you familiar with the basics and give you the right tools to ensure you are learning the songs/riffs/chords that you want to learn. Anything beyond a beginner we will work together to learn new songs/techniques / etc. I will tab it out and write out chords so you have the lesson with you and can practice on your own. These lessons are for anyone wanting to learn the guitar for the first time or for people who already can play but wish to further their knowledge and ability.

Special Skills and Trainings

I have been playing guitar for 15 years and there is nothing I love more. I have been writing, recording, releasing and performing my own songs for the last 5 years. I have accumulated over 6.5 million streams on Spotify and 20 million across all streaming platforms. I have toured with the Philosopher Kings in Ontario and worked with multi-platinum record producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Elvis Presley, Bring Me The Horizon, etc). I spend most of my summers playing festivals around Ontario.

Lessons on an online platform

Zach can provide online instruction. While other platforms are possible BAH strongly recommends the use of the Zoom video conferencing platform as it is optimized for music lessons and audio quality.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
