In my opinion Music is one of the last forms of magic that we still have in this world. It's this belief that inspires my teaching and I believe the journey of music never really ends. My students are encouraged to progress their technical proficiency while also emphasizing the important of creativity and play. Although exceptionally rare, the times in which I feel I have failed as a teacher are those in which I cannot foster a genuine and innate desire in my students to practice and improve. Learning an art should be fun and engaging, not dry and monotonous.
I learned piano initially from my mother until I was 8 then learned from Lauren McInnes, a certified conservatory adjudicator until I was 18. Around the age of 15 I began to self teach myself guitar aswell as baritone and voice. I myself reached the RCM grade 9 level and passed my exam.

Hahaha at the last line of the example. Poor actors! That aside, here are a few factors that I feel make me a unique musical educator. I have a musical career myself, having released multiple full length albums under various monikers I have a solid understanding of musical production, composition, arrangement and styles. I am a member of the LGBTQ community and as such can offer a comfortable option to those who would prefer being taught by a fellow community member. It has been stated by multiple people on many occasions that my love of music is in a league of it's own, just shy of obsession haha

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
