Music has been an unwavering passion in my life from the very beginning, shaping meaningful friendships, inspiring mentorships, and creating cherished memories. As an educator, whether in the context of a band class or private lessons, my ultimate goal is to guide students in exploring their creativity and nurturing their confidence through the enchantment of music. Whether it's honing their skills on an instrument, developing a deep appreciation for music as an art form, or discovering a new hobby, I firmly believe that the transformative power of music is boundless. Through my teaching, I aim to instill in students the joy and wonder that music has brought into my life, empowering them to embrace the magic of their own musical journey.
My journey with music started in middle school, and it truly flourished during my time in High School. Engaging in concert band, jazz band, and choir became a big part of my life. At the University of Victoria, I pursued Music Education as my major, focusing on trumpet as my primary instrument, while also becoming proficient in all concert band instruments. The clarinet became my secondary instrument of choice. For the past seven years, I've had the incredible opportunity to teach music classes in public schools across BC. My dedication to education led me to obtain a Masters's Degree in Education, further enhancing my skills as an educator. Despite my teaching responsibilities, I remain deeply connected to my musical roots. I continue to perform at the professional level whenever possible and make it a point to share the joy of music with my students daily. Music remains an integral part of my life, and I am delighted to pass on that passion and knowledge to the next generation of music enthusiasts.
My musical journey has been a combination of formal training through my university degrees and the invaluable lessons learned from countless musical experiences. I have had the privilege of performing professionally in diverse settings, including jazz and orchestral performances. It brings me immense joy to contribute to the success of school bands, as I take pride in helping them achieve high scores in festival settings. My dedication to music and teaching allows me to pass on the knowledge and skills I've acquired, enriching the lives of those I teach and share music with.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
