Teaching Philosophy

I believe in sharing the pure joy of playing the piano, the satisfaction of reaching personal goals, and the freedom to express oneself through music. This is the foundation of my teaching philosophy.

Musical Education

I have been fortunate to attend two exceptional schools and earn significant achievements in my musical education. First, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Musical Composition at Nihon University College of Art Music. This experience provided me with a solid foundation in composition and expanded my understanding of music theory. Additionally, I pursued my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music, where I achieved practical Grade 8 in piano performance, advanced rudiments in RCM theory, and obtained a Grade 5 certification from Yamaha Piano. These educational milestones have enriched my musical knowledge and equipped me with the necessary skills to excel as a musician.

Special Skills and Trainings

My music journy began with Electone(Electronic Organ)at the age of four when I was enrolled in Junior Music Course at Yamaha Music School. Mainly I learned the basic skills and ensemble techniques there. After I switched to learn piano from Electone, I participated and won in Tokyo and National music contest when I was 7yrs. I became interested in Two Japanese famous composers, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Joe Hisaishi's works when I played accompaniment for a high school chorus competition and made a clear decision to go on to a Music University, then I started to study under the university professor to learn the basic of music composition for 2years before enrolling to the university. I hold bachelor degree from Nihon University College of Art, music composition couse in Japan where I won the president's award when I was graduated. In 2012, I moved to Canada and began teaching in Yamaha Music School in Ottawa. In 2015, I started to open own piano school at home and still going now. I have been helping all age and levels students for piano and music theory for 13 years. My students were listed on RCM first class honor roll in 2025 and I was listed as an excellent teacher on the category of Elementary and Intermediate level as well.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
