Teaching Philosophy
Expanding my knowledge and skills in drumming fuels my desire to share this passion with others, whether they're beginners or looking to delve into intermediate drumming. I believe that the drumming journey should be enjoyable and rewarding. Drumming serves as an incredible creative outlet that goes beyond just striking drums; it can also alleviate stress. Moreover, drumming offers numerous health benefits, including physical activity, improved cardiovascular health, calorie burning, and enhanced circulation. One of the most rewarding aspects of playing music, especially as a drummer, is the sense of accomplishment when you conquer new challenges or learn something new. In a world filled with social media and internet comparisons to great musicians, I believe that with dedication and practice, anyone can achieve their musical goals.
Musical Education
I've been playing the drums for most of my life. When I was a kid I remember buying a pair of sticks and practice pad at a garage sale and immediately fell in love with drumming. I started taking lessons soon after and within the year I got my first drum kit. In the past I have taught several students, young and old and want to continue to help people with a passion for music and drumming.
Special Skills and Trainings
I picked up an interest in drumming when I was about 10 and over the years I started playing in different bands and am still part of the Calgary music scene. I have gained some valuable experiences while recording with these bands in professional studios. I started with a lot of punk drumming and slowly moved to other genres and styles. I soon realized the importance of proper technique, tuning, articulation and sound and aim to develop fluidity around the kit, orchestration, limb independence, speed, and consistency.

Associate Teacher Lesson Rates:
Taylor is a Beethoven at Home Associate Teacher
- 30 minutes: $39
- 45 minutes: $49
- 60 minutes: $59
Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
