My philosophy of teaching music revolves around gearing students to be able to play the songs they want to play instead of hyper-focusing on a set syllabus. This approach ensures that students are engaged and feel that they are taking an active part in the development of their skills. I am sensitive to the various commitments students may have. To ensure they do not get anxious about practicing and end up giving up music learning, I invite my students to fidget with their instruments regularly even if they cannot practice intensively. While most people can quickly draw a rudimentary landscape - sunsetting between two hills, a river, a small cottage with a road leading up to it with some clouds and birds in the corner - most people cannot compose a rudimentary piece of music. I believe as teachers we should aspire to make music learning as ubiquitous.
While my formal education is in law, I have been learning music since 2010. I was trained at the One World College of Music between 2015-2017 where I studied the guitar and bass along with music theory and ensemble classes. Between 2017-2019 I continued my music training at Eastwind Academy of Advanced Music and Performance where I continued learning the bass and branched out into composition and production. I joined Eastwind in 2020 as a Teaching Assistant and I held the position until 2022.
During law school (between 2015-2020) I was a senior member of music society. I was involved in training other students in developing basic skills involved in playing the guitar and bass. I also produced and conducted stage performances for the members.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
