Teaching Philosophy

I believe that every student requires a personal touch and added effort from the teacher , so as to bring the best output that he or she can deliver. One size fits all is generally not the approach I take when starting with new students. For students who have played guitar for a few years I take into account their strengths and weaknesses and try to work around their interests. Songplaying and songwriting is also an approach that I try with enthusiastic players who seek music education to transform their hobby into profession and as I am also a qualified music producer so my insight to recording, editing and producing music also helps my students.

Musical Education

Musician, Composer and a Guitar Instructor, I was born to a conservative Brahmin family. My grandfather was the 13th generation of Sanskrit, Arts and Hindu philosophy Scholar and Educator. As my mother played Indian Classical Sitar, I started taking interest in music, and thus, my foundation was laid in Indian classical music at a early age. Later at the age of 9, I started playing Guitar as I was influenced by Pink Floyd, Guns n’ Roses, Rush and other bands from the rock n’ roll era. I studied Classical Music Theory from Associate Board for the Royal School of Music, London and Electric Guitar from Rockschool, London. I have been playing live music and doing studio sessions for other artists since 2011. I am also an Audio Engineer and a producer and have worked at Oviya Studios, New Delhi for a few years. My playing style is heavily influenced by players like Guthrie Govan, John Petrucci, Greg Howe, Tom Quayle and Steve Vai and my legato techniques and diverse fretboard knowledge makes my playing style both unique and recognizable for an avid music listener. I am currently studying Game Audio Design at Berklee College of Music.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
