Teaching Philosophy

I believe that learning music is like learning a language. I like to teach my students that the guitar is a vehicle for communicating musical ideas, but the ideas, whether scripted or improvised, come from the musician. You can be a fantastic guitarist without necessarily being a fantastic musician, or vice-versa. I aim to teach my students to be both guitarists and musicians. Learning music is truly a joy when the goals are precise and set realistically with a good pace. I balance my teaching between guitar techniques and theory/ear training so that my students can develop their musicality and the necessary technique to express their ideas. Of course, if my student is very comfortable with one or the other, I will put more emphasis on the lacking areas.

Musical Education

I have attended the following schools with these degrees: -Vanier College in Professional Songwriting Techniques, Jazz Guitar (Graduated 2017 with Honour Roll) -Bachelor's at McGill University in Jazz Pefrormance, Electric Guitar (Graduated 2021) -Currently studying Music Education at McGill University

Special Skills and Trainings

I have spent the first few years of my musical journey learning the guitar by myself and composing songs with my friends in high school. My skills as a musician flourished in college under the mentorship of my private guitar instructor. Since 2015, I have done many gigs throughout Laval and Montreal which taught me a lot about the business and work ethics of being a musician, notably the Montreal Jazz Festival with the Vanier College Big Band.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
