Music is life. Music is fun. Music is and will always be a gift to us no matter our age. As a music/piano teacher, my goal is to help learners grow, identify new sides of themselves, and apply lessons learnt in problem-solving. Wondering how this is possible with children as young as four (4) years old? All learners are intelligent and innovative. However, when the right and fun approach is used, learning the piano never feels like a difficult task but rather a companion. I believe the best way to learn is by doing. This helps my students feel confident, successful and creative. Working with learners has taught me to: 1. be more creative and diverse in my teaching approach 2. understand them and be tolerant 3. be attentive and reflect on my teaching practices after each lesson. Music is practical, and the more we do, the better we become. In helping learners understand music, they put it into practice in different ways that help them achieve success, confidence and creative skills. You made the right choice.
I have attended the following schools earning the following degrees: University of Toronto, Canada - Masters in Music Educators University of Education, Winnerba, Ghana- Bachelor of Music Education. My mother taught me the piano, growing up as a child. During my undergrad, my tutors, Sita Korley and John Francis Annan took over in teaching me the piano.
The Duke of Edinburgh international award (Gold & Bronze)
I am very great and innovative when it comes to teaching music, songs, games and acting (especially with children). I also have skills in organizing events such as music shows, birthday parties etc.
Seyram is a Beethoven at Home Associate Teacher
Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
