I believe in the popular belief that music enriches lives and helps to give students a well-rounded background. Learning an instrument encourages creativity, discipline, dedication, concentration, and most importantly fun! I work together with the student (and their parents, if applicable) to achieve their personal goals. I have prepared students successfully for RCM exams and youth orchestra auditions, and I have also helped students prepare pop songs for their school talent shows. I tailor my teaching style and curriculum to each individual student. In most cases, I like to teach my students a classical technical foundation. Even if you're interested in playing fiddle or pop music, a classical foundation will give you the skills to play whatever you want! I place a lot of emphasis on reading music as well for the same reasons. My aim is to teach my students to be independent so that they can enjoy violin to the fullest.
I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in violin performance from the University of Southern California. I studied with the concertmaster and associate concertmaster of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and have extensive background in studying and performing classical music. I have performed in Canada, USA, France, and Japan.

I started playing violin when I was three years old, and music has been a huge part of my life ever since. I have experience performing in both formal and informal settings, and while my background is in classical music, I am equally comfortable playing and teaching a wide range of musical styles. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and hope to continue sharing a love of music with all my students!

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
