Teaching Philosophy

I thrive on teaching what resonates with each student's interests, all while laying down the essential drumming basics. My teaching approach encourages students to unravel musical puzzles, explore curiosities, and push their limits. My ultimate objective is to empower students to embrace drumming with confidence, enabling them to freely create and play. If you're aiming to excel in auditions (CEGEP, University, etc.), I'll guide you through the process, ensuring you're well-prepared for the next exciting phase of your musical journey.

Musical Education

I’m currently finishing up my Bachelor in Jazz Drums performance at McGill University. Prior to that, I got a DEC in Professional Song and performance techniques from Vanier college and also graduated Lindsay Place High School in the old Music Etude program.

Awards and Distinctions

The first award that I won was when I was 12 years old in a drumming competition. Later in my career, I’ve been apart of many groups that have won Battle of the bands competitions. Very recently, a group that I lead won a spot on the Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival and a different group got selected to participate in a Nuit D’Afrique competition (hoping for the best)!

Special Skills and Trainings

I’ve been playing drums for over a decade and have learned a lot on the way. I lead many groups that tour and perform very regularly in the Canadian scene. I’ve recorded many albums/ works and in a wide range of music genres (jazz, rock, reggae/ ska, punk, classical, hip-hop, and more!) I’m currently working on building a strong reputation as a reliable and super fun musician in the Montreal music scene.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
