Teaching Philosophy

Teaching is my absolute passion! What truly lights up my day is knowing that when students leave my studio or our vocal sessions, they're taking a step closer to achieving their vocal goals or gaining that extra boost of confidence. My stage performances are a mirror of my personal journey of self-discovery through music, and my fascination for diving deeper into this incredible instrument. Apart from teaching, you'll often find me engaged with my community, participating in corporate events, and collaborating musically with up-and-coming artists from Northern Ontario. Sharing my love for music and teaching is something I eagerly anticipate. Whether it's helping you develop your skills, master your craft, or simply derive pleasure from your musical abilities, I'm here to share my teaching gifts with anyone who's eager to learn.

Musical Education

I'm a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music (B.Mus.), and Cambrian College’s voice performance program (with honors) I also have my grade 8 voice from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Most recently, I earned my Level 1 certificate from NYU's Kodály Music Methodology Institute.

Special Skills and Trainings

- Operated vocal studio for several years - Instructed singers of all ages and skill levels - Experience with children's summer theatre programs - Worked with children and adults with special needs - Conducted master classes, performances, and mentoring in schools in Nigeria (February 2020) - Donated school supplies to those in need during the Nigeria trip - Gained insights into African musical traditions during the Nigeria visit - Active member of Ontario's Kodaly Society of Canada

Lessons on an online platform

Nicole can provide online instruction. While other platforms are possible BAH strongly recommends the use of the Zoom video conferencing platform as it is optimized for music lessons and audio quality.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
