I meet people exactly where they are, regardless of their age, skill level, preferred style, or background. My aim is to help individuals achieve their musical goals, whether they're aiming for small victories or aiming high. Adapting my teaching style to match each student's learning preferences is my forte. By taking the time to truly understand them, I guide them towards finding their musical path. Just remember, your happiness and success bring me the same joy and sense of achievement!
I have an Honours Bachelor of Music from the University of Guelph-Humber, where I majored in Jazz Vocal Performance. Previously, I obtained my ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. I also studied Classical Piano Performance in the Bachelor of Music program at the University of Toronto. Throughout the years, some of my notable professors were: Victoria Gimelshtein, Marietta Orlov, Boris Lysenko, Christine Duncan, Ted Quinlan and Dr. Doreen Rao.
From the time I was an infant, my grandmother would play piano with me on her lap. She played by ear, and her piano playing was the soundtrack of my youth. I started doing piano lessons, examinations, recitals and competitions at the age of 7, joined the church choir at 9, and wrote my first song at the age of 11. I played the lead in many local musical theatre productions, most notably as Maria in The Sound of Music with CharACTORS Theatre Troupe. From an early age, and throughout my life so far, music has been the path that always calls to me. I won MuchFACT and VideoFACT funding in high school, which allowed me to record a music video, as well as making an EPK and a website. In my 20s, in addition to many years of schooling, I had a lot of fun being the lead singer, and/or backup singer and keyboardist for many eclectic bands, including Edgewater Hotel, Melodrome Dancemachine, Stefi Beck and Butcher Something. In this current decade of my life, I have continued to pursue performance opportunities, as well as learning how to produce music. I have performed with Shelley Budd, Yana Bilyk and Vivienne Wilder, as well as several solo shows. I released my first album of self-composed songs a couple of years ago. Teaching consistently for the past 14 years, and on and off before that, has given me the musical grounding and interaction that allows me to share my love of music with others. I am full of gratitude and excitement for what my students have brought to my life, all these years.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
