Music is a world of amazement and wonder. I want to help guide students through this world, a place where creativity and expression can come to life. My goal is that lessons are fun, interesting and stress-free. I provide quality education for students of any age group and any skill level. As a teacher, I stress the importance of physicality and finger control, a concept that I derived from the teachings of master educators of the French Style of keyboard playing. I also put special focus on the nurturing of each students innate creativity and musical gifts. Included in my lesson plans is the teaching of stress management, proper stance and posture, fundamental Music Theory, and music literacy. All of these are extra details that will improve a student's skill as a pianist and aid in the study and performance of piano repertoire.
I have degrees from the following schools: Victoria Conservatory of Music- Diploma in Music University of Victoria - Bachelor's in Music, Comprehensive
I have over ten years of experience as a professional pianist performing both solo and group repertoire. In that time I have learned a wide variety of skills for dealing with performance stress. Working as an accompanist for vocalist helped expand my understanding of pop and jazz standards, expanding my range of music beyond the traditional classical piano that I had learned from my teachers. In my early years I was self-taught, and learned a high level of music literacy before I ever sat in a formal lesson. I am a prodigy in the reading of sheet music and can sight read just about any piece of music, regardless of its complexity. I also have a deep and comprehensive understanding of music history and literature, having a familiarity with most all major works of the Classical Composers. As such, I can easily accommodate piano pieces to both a student's likes and dislikes as well as educational needs by drawing on my vast knowledge of repertoire.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
