Naomi is a Langley based piano teacher offers engaging piano lessons that are both educational and enjoyable. With a background in classical music and currently finishing her 3rd year of a BA in music from Trinity Western University, Naomi's teaching philosophy focuses on celebrating the joy of learning and the "aha" moments that come with mastering new skills. She values the importance of home practice as a fun activity and encourages her students to play from the heart while working towards their musical goals. Whether you prefer in-studio, in-home or online lessons, Naomi's program is designed to inspire and motivate students of all ages.
I believe in providing quality piano lessons that are relevant, fun, motivating and fresh. I believe in piano lessons that focus not only on acquisition of skills but the enjoyment of learning and the celebration of the ''aha'' moment. I value home practicing because is fun (not because you have to). The right to make mistakes, playing from the heart and work hard to achieve our goals. I do a lot of research to ensure that what I teach is unique, innovative and edgy and make it a priority to recognize student achievements in ways that are meaningful and fun. I believe in modeling how music can do good in our community and busting self-esteem. I believe my program is one of a kind and that I will continue to evolve. My students will always be my inspiration to do more.
I am currently finishing my 3rd year of BA in music from Trinity Western University which includes performance classes in piano and mostly classical music. I studied both piano and voice privately from the age of 12 until the age of eighteen. My teachers were classically trained and the training I underwent was rigorous and detailed. My piano teacher was trained in Vienna and was detail oriented with exceptionally high standards. Studying music at university has also given me the opportunity to be part of different ensembles, both as a pianist and a singer.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
