To me, music is something that is meant to be enjoyed and it is the teacher's job to aid the student in enjoying the process of learning music as well as helping them develop their own unique style. In the initial classes, my main focus is on helping the student develop a strong foundation of musical skills such as finger dexterity, sight reading and ear training. An apt analogy would be that learning music is like growing a tree and once the roots are established the student can decide how they wish to grow that tree with the teacher serving as a gardener to help them be able to grow that tree in the way in which they see fit.
I have completed all of the Royal Conservatory of Music practical and theory exams up to and including ARCT all with first honors. I studied piano privately for eleven years with my principal teacher being Dr. Michael Berkovsky from the Royal Conservatory of Music. I have also been in several masterclasses with pianists such as Dr. Younggun Kim, Benjamin Smith from the Royal Conservatory of Music and James Parker from the University of Toronto. Under all of these wonderful teachers I have received a thorough and rigorous piano education and am educated in many classical styles. In addition to all of my experience as a performer, I have experience as a teacher for I have previously taught as a volunteer piano teacher for the organization From Art 2 Heart for two years. I am currently a first year music student for piano at Western University in London, Ontario where I am studying a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance.

I have played in many piano competitions on a regional, provincial and even an international level where I managed to score fourth place at the Canadian Music Competition. I have also played in many ensembles both as a classical pianist and as a jazz pianist in high school. These experiences have given me a very well rounded musical skillset which I can pass onto students and provide them with different possible directions to develop their musicality. In addition, I also know many different exercises both using an instrument and without which I can teach students.

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
