I think the key to successful music learning is believing in what you're doing. My goal is to work with students to set achievable targets. We figure out what got you interested in learning music and break challenges into smaller steps that add up to big improvements. Maybe you're a band flutist who wants to dive into jazz or you've got a passion for Klezmer clarinet. Whatever sparks your joy and curiosity, that's what we focus on. This approach makes our lessons engaging and leads to positive results.
I have attended the following schools, earning the following degrees: - York University - Master of Arts - University of Toronto - Bachelor of Music Notable teachers include: clarinet with Miles Jaques, David Bourque, Steve Pierre and Peter Stoll, flute with Peg Albrecht, Nina Martini-Dorey and Sara Hahn, oboe with Wendy Bornstein, Monica Fosnaugh and David Sussman, bassoon with Nadina Mackie Jackson.
I was always eager to learn everything I could musical instruments in my childhood and had great support of teachers within the public schools system in Ontario to do this. They let me sign out any and all of the woodwind instruments and it was a personal pursuit to learn them. Now, I am a proficient woodwind doubler with extensive experience on each of the woodwinds, who plays in pit orchestras for musicals across Canada, and feel very passionately about the role of multi-disciplinarian's in the arts. I was a Banff Artist in Residence in 2018 and got to collaborate and record with emerging Canadian singer/songwriters in fusion, folk, dark folk and jazz styles. I was a competitive dancer for 20 years and believe that music and movement compliment each other. As much as possible I find ways to incorporate movement in my lessons.

Getting Started Together

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
