Music has been a source of immense joy in my life, and my greatest aspiration is to share this joy with those around me. Music, in its essence, is a language that weaves tales of our lives, expressing emotions that words cannot capture. Drawing from my background as a dancer and percussionist, I place a strong emphasis on the significance of warm-ups and maintaining proper posture in performance. My lessons are infused with laughter, creating a joyful atmosphere that enhances learning. I craft unique exercises tailored to individual needs and develop diverse teaching approaches that resonate with each student's learning style.
I am currently a sophomore at the University of Toronto, studying Music History, Theory, and Culture, and majoring in percussion, under the tutelage of Aiyun Huang, Beverley Johnston, and John Rudolph. I have obtained a CGPA of 4.0 last year, and received the Avedis Zildjian Percussion Scholarship Award and Andrew Alexander Kinghorn Scholarships in Music, by achieving the highest CGPA among the whole cohort. I have also completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, and received a final grade of 41/45, the top 3.27% among 88,158 candidates in 2020.
- Avedis Zildjian Percussion Scholarship Award (2021) - Andrew Alexander Kinghorn Scholarships in Music (2020) - Youth Arch Student Improvement Award (2019, 2015) - Hong Kong Children's Choir Outstanding Service Award (2018) - City Contemporary Dance Company Scholarship (2018, 2019)
I spent my whole life in a musical family with two music director parents. I have received trainings in a variety of instruments, ranging from piano, cello, vocal, clarinet, recorder, and violin., as well as theory and history since I was 3 years old. I was elected to be the Percussion section leader of the Hong Kong Festival Youth Wind Orchestra (2014-18), as well as the the part leader of mezzo-sopranos of the Hong Kong Children's Choir's Concert Choir, one of the top 10 choirs in China, in 2018. I have earned the ABRSM percussion grade 8 exam with a distinction in 2016, and have been teaching beginners to intermediate percussionists for more than a year.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
