As a piano teacher, I believe that genuine passion for music is, above all, the most important quality for any student. My approach to teaching not only aims to build a strong technical foundation, but also to nurture creativity and connection to music. My goal is always to foster a positive and comfortable learning environment where students are encouraged to make mistakes and actively learn from them. With years of teaching experience, I am skilled at recognizing each student’s individual needs and tailoring lessons to fit their unique learning style, helping them develop the discipline and dedication needed to achieve their full potential. Whether it is picking up a new hobby or earning RCM diplomas, I am here to help you build the confidence and skills necessary to achieve your goals as a pianist.
Having been classically trained in piano from the age of five, I achieved my ARCT diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) at fourteen. I have completed all RCM practical and music theory levels. Throughout the years, I have won several outstanding awards in local piano competitions, including the Richmond Music Festival and Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival. In 2018, I was invited to accompany the Vancouver Spirit Orchestra to perform at Disneyland and join their tour in LA.
I have over three years of teaching experience. When I was eleven, I started assisting my piano teacher with his students as a fun hobby. At the time, I was advancing piano levels very quickly, moving further ahead than my peers and even older students. I started off by correcting the students’ techniques in piano scales and musical pieces. As I honed my skills as a teacher, I eventually started working alongside my piano teacher to teach students ages 5-15 and help them pass RCM levels 5-10. As a teacher, I selected musical pieces, taught students high level techniques, and assisted them in the required ear training and sight reading. These years of teaching have taught me how to effectively engage and communicate with students of all ages, inspiring them to develop consistency in practicing and perseverance when faced with challenges along the way. I understand the importance of empathy, dedication, and kindness in a good teacher; I believe that my experience has shaped me into someone who possesses all these qualities, and who goes above and beyond for every student.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
