Jennifer brings over 20 years of experience teaching piano and voice, directing adult choirs, and performing in music festivals. With a Bachelor of Music from Augustana University College and a background in RCM piano and voice, Jennifer's teaching philosophy centers around the belief that music enriches not only our lives but also our hearts and souls. She offers lessons tailored to individual needs, fostering a supportive environment where students can develop both their musical skills and their mental well-being. Whether online or in-person at her studio or your home, Jennifer is committed to sharing the joy of music with her students.
Music has always been an incredibly big part of my life. I started piano at age 4, my mom was a piano teacher and my dad plays by ear. It’s always been there from my great-grandmother teaching at a music university in the states to my grandmother playing piano for the dances in the 1940s. Music, from learning to teaching is an excellent outlet to keep the small things, like fine motor skills fine-tuned, to the big things, like mental health, healthy and in check! Music not only fills our lives but also our hearts and souls and we get to share it with others!
After finishing my grade 9 RCM in piano and voice, I went to Augustana University College to complete my Bachelor of Music. My piano teacher is a professional pianist and accompanist, and my voice teachers were classically trained professionals as well.
I have been teaching piano and voice for over 20 years. I also have directed adult choirs, played in numerous community concert bands and performed in music festivals.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
