Teaching Philosophy

Music has been an integral part of my life for longer than I can recall. It has taught me to embrace even the most minute details of life, much like the nuances of performance we get from a page of music. I believe any person is capable of great things in music - it takes a brain willing to forge relationships with unfamiliar concepts, engage with creativity, and strive for greatness.

Musical Education

I have studied music from a young age, beginning with piano at seven. This was followed by trumpet at nine years old. At ten, I began composing music with the New York Philharmonic’s Very Young Composers Program, and this was an excellent way for me to develop my creativity and musicality with other like minded individuals. I completed this program by high school, and I became a mentor for other young students. Keeping up with trumpet, I was a member of Face the Music, a program that plays music by living composers only - as well as the Jazz at Lincoln Center High School Jazz Academy. This allowed me to perform jazz and new music. I graduated from the Special Music School in NYC, NY studying music composition, and I am now pursuing a B.M. in Music Composition from Concordia University in Montréal, QC.

Special Skills and Trainings

My mother played a huge role in my early involvement with music. She is not a musician herself, but she is someone who is moved by music, and passionately at that. I was exposed to all different forms of music growing up, and this has made me well versed in several genres, whether that is history, theory, or a combination of both. I currently compose and perform electronic music as part of my personal journey with my career - I would like to continue my passion for DJing, and I hope to inspire others who want to embark on a personal journey with music as well. I have composed and performed everything from orchestral to ambient music - and the best part is, I am always open to learning and developing as an artist!

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
