Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is to teach both the instrument and overall North Indian classical music and its rich musical experience. The music of the Indian subcontinent is usually divided into two major traditions of classical music: Hindustani music of North India and Carnatic music of South India, although many regions of India also have their own musical traditions that are independent of these. One of the main differences between North Indian and South Indian music is the increased influence of Persian music and musical instruments in the north.

Musical Education

I have learnt Indian classical music for 10+ years in India and have rich learning experience from my guru. Would be interested to teach my students the heritage and cultural background of indian classical flute (Bansuri) acquired.

Special Skills and Trainings

Indian Classical Flute (Bansuri) - Mostly 'E' Bass Flute (30 inches long) Bansuri is a very sensitive instrument; almost all the delicate graces, curves, embellishments and shades of classical music can be performed to perfection upon it. The highest order of music can be played on this instrument, and its resonance in mandra saptak (lower octave) leaves a rare charm in the minds of its listeners and hence mostly used for meditation, yoga music etc. Depending on the flute key, the length of the flute can be between two-and-a- half feet to less than three feet, depending upon the thickness of the wall and density of the bamboo. I can also teach ear training with the help of Indian classical music theory.

Lessons on an online platform

Deepak can provide online instruction. While other platforms are possible BAH strongly recommends the use of the Zoom video conferencing platform as it is optimized for music lessons and audio quality.
