I have been teaching for the past 16 years, in 4 different countries, both privately and in schools, all ages and levels. I greatly enjoy setting up beginners students, but also teaching students who have come to me from another teacher. Many times, those students have been disenchanted, and I love the challenge of rekindling their love for the instrument. My main focus is finding a good balance between a solid technical foundation and a strong sense of musical style. More than one student has described me as the perfect combination of strict and fun, so I guess it's true!
I have a Master of Arts degree in Performance, from the Royal Academy of Music, London, with a specialization in Historical Performance. I studied the violin privately from the age of three until the age of seventeen, after which I attended the Orfeion Conservatory of Music in Athens, Greece, graduating with a Diploma in Performance. Most of my teachers were very detail oriented, and came from the Russian school of teaching. I was fortunate to attend masterclasses and have lessons with many other wonderful teachers, besides my main ones.
- Scholarship to Dartington International Summer School (2008, 2009) - Scholarship to Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute (2009)
I have completed the first 3 units of the Suzuki Method teacher training, which was a wonderful experience, has enriched my teaching and also provided me with a network of like-minded teachers to collaborate with. I have been fortunate to take part in summer festivals, such as the Dartington International Summer School in Devon, England, the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute in Toronto, the Abbaye aux Dames in Saintes, France, and the International Baroque Institute at Longy in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They all gave me the opportunity to work with renowned, and wonderful, people in my field.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
