Teaching Philosophy

My greatest passion lies in guiding students to see the big picture of music – not only as a path of learning but also as a source of pure enjoyment. I believe that music is a journey that encompasses both technical growth and emotional fulfillment.

Musical Education

I majored in voice and percussion for 4 years through the Waterloo Region Integrated Arts Program in Kitchener, Ontario. During my 4-year program, I had the honour of being heavily involved with various music extracurriculars which included concert choir, chamber choir, male choir, concert band, and musicals. I was also the pianist for the jazz band.

Awards and Distinctions

In 2014, I was one of the top 10 finalists in 93.7 Faith FM's Shining Star voice competition. Since then, I have written for and have been featured on several albums.

Special Skills and Trainings

From a young age, I immersed myself in the joy of playing drums, piano, bass, and guitar at my church. As I grew older, my passion for music only flourished, leading me to take on the role of music director at my local church during high school. Today, I am thrilled to specialize in teaching a diverse range of musical skills, including voice, songwriting, piano, guitar, ukulele, drums, and bass. It brings me immense joy to share my love for music with students of all ages, and I am dedicated to helping them explore their musical potential and nurture their artistic talents.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
