Being a musician isn't just something you do, it's something you are. Every individual has a deep, personal connection with music that lives within them, and as a music teacher my fundamental aim is striving to help them hear and express it in each their own way.
As a graduate of Carleton University, I have a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance with honors in composition. I've studied piano for approximately 18 years within the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum completing my grade 8 certification, receiving First Class Honors with each of my examination results, with additional post-secondary studies in grade 9, 10 and ARCT Royal Conservatory repertoire and technique.
2016 Carleton University Chamber Music Award
My passion for music and piano has seen me perform extensively at Cornwall's Kinsmen Music Festival, as well as Ottawa's Canadian Music Showcase and Gala, and Carleton University Chamber Ensemble concerts to even achieving provincial finalist in the Ontario Music Festivals Association competition. I have also composed original music for over 10 years for media projects in film/TV and video games, some of which has been featured in Saskatchewan's Yorkton Film Festival and on CBC. Additionally, I have directed music with a church ministry choir of 10-15 people, leading rehearsals and Sunday music services. These areas of performing, composing and directing have allowed me to view music in many different lights, gaining unique perspectives that span a wide range of musical avenues that I apply in my lessons. It is my hope that my students find these perspectives useful when understanding their own music, so that they may experience the reward and joy of progress and expression.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
