I want to to transmit the excitement and sense of accomplishment that I have from playing the drums and music. It is important to me that the student has a succesful experience and advances in every single lesson. I base most of my teaching on using actual pieces of music. By learning to play the music through my guidance the student can have a great experience of achievement in mastering the elements needed. Also, a set piece of music is a defined goal and benchmark. I am careful to choose music that is appropriate to the level of the student and that they enjoy it. Also base a lot of my theory and technique instruction are based on actual pieces of music as this gives a direct example of application. With this direct music based method, I have had many students make great advancements and enjoy the playing of drums. It keeps them motivated to continue the pursuit of mastering the instrument.
I have a Diploma from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, CA. which I passed with honors.
