Chanel offers online lessons for students from age 2 to adults. Specializing in voice, she brings over 15 years of study and a Music Performance & Technology Diploma from Metalworks Institute to her teaching. Chanel is not just focused on vocal technique; she aims to help students find their unique sound through stylistic and emotive choices. With over 6 years of teaching experience and her own successful music career, including an EP produced by 3-time Grammy Award-winning producer David Bottrill, Chanel is a well-rounded artist ready to guide students in both casual learning and career growth.
I will not only help you with vocal technique, but with finding your own sound as an artist. We will do this by focusing on stylistic and emotive choices which I believe makes a good singer, a great singer. I can also help you with performance and songwriting. We will make sure you are a well-rounded artist with the confidence and knowledge to start or grow your music career. If you are interested in learning casually and only focusing on improving your vocals, I offer that too. Music should always be enjoyable and I can adhere to your learning style and goals.
I have been studying voice privately for 15+ years and have a Music Performance & Technology Diploma from Metalworks Institute.
I have over 6 years of teaching experience but I have also spent a lot of time on my own music career. This includes a recently released EP produced by 3-time Grammy Award winning producer David Bottrill, playing with Ian D'Sa (Billy Talent) and Cone McCaslin (Sum 41) for Make Music Matter's Unplugged Together concert series, and sharing the stage with Jeff Martin of The Tea Party, Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, Puddle of Mudd and more.
Chanel is a Beethoven at Home Associate Teacher
Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
