Music it is important in our difficult, busy lives. I believe music is there to help people to better focus, to relax and to be better as a person. I help also people to believe in there dream and to never give up. Work and Perseverance will help you to achieve your goals and to become a singer if you dream to! I always start my singing lessons with worm-up exercises that will help you develop your breathing. I look with you to find the better songs to work on and I teach you to sing better the songs that we chose together. Adults students are welcome and remember music can be just a wonderful therapy and hobby but if your dream is to be a singer I always tell my students: It is never too late to make your dream become true!!

I am Catalina, a professional singer who began teaching singing lessons at a young age. My educational journey in music started at Vanier College, followed by McGill College and Laval University, where I focused on singing and pedagogy. I also received private singing lessons at McGill University under the guidance of Therese Sevadjan. Currently, my personal instructor was Celine Dion's last teacher. I am deeply passionate about teaching both children and adults, sharing my love for music with my students. Music has always been an integral part of my life, and I've always known that my life would be destined for music.
I was born in Bucharest, Romania, and began singing solos in professional choirs from the age of 10. By 12, I was not only participating in numerous concerts but also caught the attention of organizers for a children's TV show. My singing career in Québec started with recognition from the head of the music department at Université de Montréal. I pursued classical training at Vanier College, McGill University in Montréal, and Laval University in Québec City. I honed my classical technique under the supervision of Thérèse Sevadjan, head of the music department at McGill University. Since 2014, I have been refining my skills with my vocal trainer and mentor, Benoit Sarrasin. I am passionate about music and am currently organizing a new singing contest in Québec, "Montre-Nous Ta Voix!", to introduce amateur artists to the excitement of the stage. The Québec artists Valérie Clio and Valade, along with Doina Balzer, director of the "Mondokarnaval" festival, collaborated with me for the successful completion of the contest's first edition, which concluded on June 18, 2017, at District St-Joseph in Québec City. Throughout my artistic career, I have participated in several radio and TV interviews and collaborated with artists from Romania, France, and Québec, setting the stage for my future artistic projects. I continue to enchant audiences with my voice, which is both powerful and tender. People often tell me that I bring a ray of light into their lives with my voice, my smile, and my personality.

Rates and Studio Policies
Registration Fee: $25.00 (One-time lifetime registration fee may be used by all family members)
Rates for instruction:
30 minute private lesson: $39.00
45 minute private lesson: $49.00
60 minute private lesson: $59.00
Travel charge: additional $15.00 per visit (for lessons in a client's home as opposed to my studio)
1. Cancellation Policy
Lessons not cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice are billable to the client and payable to the teacher. This does not of course apply to travel fees unless the notice is effectively given at the door and the teacher has travelled to the location.
2. Cessation (quitting) Policy
A client must provide a 2 lesson notice period to stop lessons. So a weekly student needs to give 2 weeks of notice, a biweekly student works out to 3 weeks notice and a twice weekly student works out to a week of notice.
3. Illness Policy
Lessons cancelled due to illness or extraordinary circumstances with less than 24 hours notice remain billable to the client and payable to the teacher.
BAH teachers are encouraged to offer a make-up lesson at a future date in the interest of client relations and general goodwill. This only makes sense as teaching a student with the flu for example, will ruin the rest of your week's employment.
No more than 2 lessons may be made up due to illness within a 60 day period.
4. Rescheduling Policy
Any lesson can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice.
Summer Vacation and Extended Absence Policy
Clients may schedule longer absences for trips etc. 24 hours notice is required.
It is normal and typical for students and about 20% of our teachers to schedule a break in the summer. We do not enforce a notice period (see cessation of lessons) at the end of a long summer break.
5. Evaluation Period
There are no free trial lessons with Beethoven at Home but we do offer a 2 lesson evaluation period where it is easy to try out a teacher. There are no free lessons during the evaluation period and clients may choose to discontinue the lessons at any time by providing the required 24 hours notice. After the student's 3rd lesson the required 2 lesson notice period will apply (see cessation of lessons above).
Online lessons
Catalina can provide online instruction. While other platforms are possible BAH strongly recommends the use of the Zoom video conferencing platform as it is optimized for music lessons and audio quality.
