Anthony, a dedicated music teacher, excels in teaching composition, piano, singer-songwriter, and ukulele, providing both online and in-home lessons in Langley, Aldergrove, and Surrey for students aged 6 to adults. Holding a BA in Music with a focus on piano and composition, he has over ten years of experience in private piano instruction and a profound background in composing music for diverse projects. Anthony's teaching philosophy centers on encouraging students to delve into music they are passionate about, thereby deepening their musical understanding and creativity. His lessons are meticulously tailored to meet each student's unique needs, ensuring they reach their musical aspirations, from beginners to those aiming to refine their skills.
Music and the enjoyment of it has played a large part in my life. From an early age I knew I wanted to be a composer because I was so enamoured by music and the way it's created. I want to share that appreciation with my students; I want them to listen to and learn from the music that they enjoy to deepen their knowledge of music, and to understand just why they like the music that they like.
I have a BA in Music from Trinity Western University, with an emphasis on both piano and courses heavily focused on music composition. Before attending university I took private piano lessons for over ten years, studying under the music director of my local church. I have been writing music in a more serious manner since around grade 7, and have been able to hone my skill further through practice and continued composition lessons throughout university.
I have had the honour of singing in small choral ensembles that have graciously sung music that I have written. Having my music played has given me the chance to workshop and further hone my craft of music writing. I have also had the opportunity to take a semester of jazz piano with Ron Koyanagi, a seasoned and extremely talented jazz pianist that helped open my eyes to new possibilities of piano performance, and new ideas for songwriting. On top of this, I have engaged in several video game development projects where I served as both music composer and sound designer. This has improved my communication and collaborative spirit through working with others and sharing new compositions weekly.

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
