Music, for me, is the basis of life, and the connective tissue between an individual and the world around them. When I think of community, music is the first thing that comes to mind-- where people gather, music is to follow. Having knowledge of music history and theory can aid in that connection and communication with others. Most importantly, creating a healthy personal relationship with one's instrument and outlook on music education is my top priority. I make certain to create a judgement-free space with room to play and experiment, and I aim for my students to be as involved in their development as a musician as their teacher is.

I have an Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance from Sheridan College, with a minor in Writing for Musical Theatre. I studied classical voice privately from ages six to eighteen, and did Royal Conservatory of Music Voice Exams from Levels 1-8. Choral singing was my true start, and in The Fireside Singers, I had the opportunity to sing in an 80-piece choir for the entirety of my childhood training, with a highlight for me being a soloist with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra. I studied piano and theory from ages eight to sixteen, and obtained my RCM Advanced Theory certificate with Honours. Along with this, I played both clarinet and tenor saxophone in concert/jazz bands throughout middle and high school, and entailed several national gold medals during MusicFest Canada in Toronto and Ottawa.
- Received 8 awards from Sheridan College PBAMT program - 7-time recipient of the RCM Gold Medal in Voice (SK) - Saskatchewan representative for Music Theatre at National Music Festival (2019)
I spent my childhood listening to my dad, a drummer, rehearse with various bands in our basement, and following him around to different gigs to help him set-up. I was exposed to performing live with bands from a young age, and I learned basics on technology and equipment used for gigging from him. Along with this, a lot of my musical collaboration has been with my brother, and this relationship has taught me the importance of collaborating with fellow musicians, and challenging and pushing myself towards personal goals. I also have intermediate production/recording skills, copying skills (sheet music creation), and dabble in orchestration. In my day to day life, I'm a professional theatre actor, and deeply appreciate the dramatic arts as it relates to music and personal development. Needless to say, all of these experiences have enriched me as a teacher and creator, as I have many unique skill sets that can cater to a variety of learning styles, and I have the ability to teach many different disciplines and musical genres. Needless to say, I'm a jack of all trades!

Rates and Studio Policies
Registration Fee: $25.00 (One-time lifetime registration fee may be used by all family members)
Rates for instruction:
30 minute private lesson: $39.00
45 minute private lesson: $49.00
60 minute private lesson: $59.00
Travel charge: additional $15.00 per visit (for lessons in a client's home as opposed to my studio)
1. Cancellation Policy
Lessons not cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice are billable to the client and payable to the teacher. This does not of course apply to travel fees unless the notice is effectively given at the door and the teacher has travelled to the location.
2. Cessation (quitting) Policy
A client must provide a 2 lesson notice period to stop lessons. So a weekly student needs to give 2 weeks of notice, a biweekly student works out to 3 weeks notice and a twice weekly student works out to a week of notice.
3. Illness Policy
Lessons cancelled due to illness or extraordinary circumstances with less than 24 hours notice remain billable to the client and payable to the teacher.
BAH teachers are encouraged to offer a make-up lesson at a future date in the interest of client relations and general goodwill. This only makes sense as teaching a student with the flu for example, will ruin the rest of your week's employment.
No more than 2 lessons may be made up due to illness within a 60 day period.
4. Rescheduling Policy
Any lesson can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice.
Summer Vacation and Extended Absence Policy
Clients may schedule longer absences for trips etc. 24 hours notice is required.
It is normal and typical for students and about 20% of our teachers to schedule a break in the summer. We do not enforce a notice period (see cessation of lessons) at the end of a long summer break.
5. Evaluation Period
There are no free trial lessons with Beethoven at Home but we do offer a 2 lesson evaluation period where it is easy to try out a teacher. There are no free lessons during the evaluation period and clients may choose to discontinue the lessons at any time by providing the required 24 hours notice. After the student's 3rd lesson the required 2 lesson notice period will apply (see cessation of lessons above).
