I strive for inclusivity in all teaching, coaching, and leading experiences I do this to ensure all students of all learning abilities feel they are included, understood, and feel safe. I stress that the learning environment is supportive to students of all needs and that all students are supported in their journey of learning, as it is a wonderful adventure and should be treated as so. The teaching methodologies I use include having a discussion circle and allowing all questions of any type to be asked. This methodology is proven to be effective, especially for students who have ADHD and ADD or students who have a difficult time concentrating. I know from my learning experiences I have gained more through attentive and progressive discussion compared to the traditional lecture and note-taking method. While for some learning environments, the traditional method might be more supported, I will strive for an attentive and progressive discussion either at the beginning or end of learning periods, to ensure the students and instructors are on the same page in the beginning and are leaving feeling supported and to ensure no students are left behind on their learning journey. I strive to ensure my availability is open to my best capability, for the students I coach and teach to ensure I can answer and help with any questions or concerns. I also want to be able to celebrate the achievements and exciting opportunities, as I feel it is necessary to celebrate your student's achievements.
I will soon be a graduate of Bachelor of Music from Queen's University. In that time I have learned from Dr. Kornel Wolak, having weekly lessons for 4 years and a 40-minute graduating recital. I have taken courses in music pedagogy, theory, ear training, and how to teach my own instrument. I have been part of many ensembles in the Queen's community including, Wind ensemble, Clarinet Choir, and a chamber group with Cello and Double bass.
During my time at Queen's University, I was the section leader of the Queen's Clarinet Ensemble which involved me leading the rehearsal, having sectionals, and often helping my peers in the practice room. I have experience in teaching young children sports, which while many may think it is not transferable to music, it actually is! Because I have spent plenty of time teaching young minds difficult concepts in sports, I have learned how to apply that in a music and art setting.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
