I know for a fact that music has a significant positive impact on individuals and their growth in life. Not everybody will become a professional and that is not the point. Music is here to make us healthy, smart, creative, innovative, curious, interesting, and an overall well-rounded individual. I have seen how something as simple as learning a drum rhythm can improve memory, cognition, math skills, sleep, relaxation, critical thinking, and deepen understanding in other areas of life. As a result, I approach my teaching method in a holistic, life-first, way - where I don't teach with the intent to make you a pro but rather to help you find purpose, excitement, and fulfillment in all of your pursuits - musical or otherwise. I will show you how to play a groove along with understanding why you're playing it, what it means, and how this can translate to other areas of life. At the end of the day, drumming is as simple or as meaningful as each student makes it, and I am here to facilitate and deepen that connection.
I have completed Musical Theory at the Royal Conservatory of Music and have completed courses in Flamenco and Brazilian percussion at York University as part of my BA Honors Degree. I have studied with drum instructors in Toronto, New York City, Los Angeles, and London - including touring drummers for Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, Mars Volta, and others.
I started taking guitar lessons first at age 10 and eventually formed a band that played a sold-out show at the Opera House at our peak. This background in guitar and writing melodies has given me an edge in drumming and especially in drumming with other musicians. I started playing drums at age 20 (I am 40 now), and am currently playing in my band which is signed to a record label.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
