As an educator, I strive to ignite curiosity, cultivate creativity, and guide each student toward discovering their own distinct musical voice. My studio is a space of possibility, where challenges are embraced as opportunities, every note is infused with intention, and growth is celebrated at every step. I tailor lessons to each student’s goals—whether for personal fulfillment, professional aspiration, or exploration of new styles—blending technical guidance with inspiration from performances and recordings. Above all, my mission is to empower students to play fearlessly, express themselves authentically, and experience the joy, depth, and transformative power of music in their lives and the world around them.
I began studying violin at the age of nine in the Dominican Republic, where early training nurtured both my passion for performance and my commitment to sharing music with others. This foundation led me to pursue formal studies at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, where I earned my Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance (Honours). At the Glenn Gould School, I trained under distinguished professors including Paul Kantor, Min-Jeong Koh, Erika Raum, and Jonathan Crow. My education encompassed solo, chamber, and orchestral performance, supported by extensive coaching and masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians. Beyond my studies, I have been fortunate to perform as a soloist with the Dominican Republic’s National Symphony Orchestra in the inaugural Tesoros de la Patria concert, to appear in recital, and to collaborate in chamber ensembles such as the Renati Trio, prize winners at the Glenn Gould School Chamber Competition. These opportunities have allowed me to grow as a versatile musician while drawing inspiration from both my cultural roots and the international stage. Alongside my performance training, I also completed pedagogical training as an RCM-certified teacher under the guidance of pedagogue and clinician Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom. This experience deepened my understanding of violin instruction and gave me the tools to nurture students of all ages and levels with both technical excellence and musical imagination.
My journey as a musician has been shaped not only by formal studies but also by opportunities to learn and grow through international festivals, residencies, and community projects. I hold an RCM teaching certification, having trained under the wonderful pedagogue and clinician Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom, and I also hold ABRSM Theory Grade 5 with distinction. As a performer, I was awarded first prize in the Young Musician of the Caribbean Award (2020) and second prize with the Renati Trio in the Glenn Gould School Chamber Competition. I have also appeared as a soloist with the Dominican Republic’s National Symphony Orchestra, collaborated in chamber music, and served as concertmaster, each experience adding depth to the perspective I bring to teaching. Beyond the stage, I regularly share music in retirement homes as a form of outreach and founded Interludes of Hope, a project dedicated to bringing music into community spaces—both reflecting my belief in music’s ability to inspire and connect. Being fluent in Spanish and English, and continuing to learn German, I cherish the chance to connect with students across cultures and create an environment where music feels both personal and universal.
