Music is very special to me. I know it sounds cliche, but music is indeed all around us. Every sound, every noise we hear in our daily lives that normally gets dismissed could be categorized as music. I believe that it is important for every person to have at least a fundamental understanding of music in its simplest form. As someone who grew up in the realm of music, and has been a part of my life in many different ways, I can now conclude that I would be a very different person without it. My teaching philosophy is to inspire, while making music an enjoyable learning experience while focusing on building a strong foundation. This includes posture, musicality, ear training, technique, so that it would be easier in the long run to become a better musician overall. I want to inspire joy in learning music, while also giving the support and confidence a student needs to perform their best. I am happy to be a part of the journey of achieving any goals the student has whether that be big or small.
I have a bachelors degree in Cello Performance from McGill University, studying under Matt Haimovitz. This degree gave me the opportunity for many solo and orchestral performances. I have been studying music since the age of three, starting off on the piano, which I have the RCM ARCT diploma for. I have also been in many different orchestras, and performed with many as a growing cellist. Including: McGill Symphony Orchestra, Kindred Spirits orchestra, CAST orchestra, Orchestre de la Francophonie. My main cello mentors include: Paul Widner, Matt Haimovitz, and Elizabeth Dolin.
New York Global Music Competition - First Place, 2019 Kiwanis – Douglas Gilmour Award, 2018 CIMC – MOMA Competition First Place, 2019 Provincials – OMFA, 2018 Kiwanis Festival – Level 10 Cello, First Place, Platinum and Gold, 2018
As mentioned before, music has been an integral part of my life since the age of three. I have been growing as a musician throughout all these years. I spend my childhood playing, listening, performing, which developed my skills not only as a musician but also perseverance, self discipline, confidence, patience, persistence and many more. I have been a student for all my life, which gives me the special ability to completely understand the other side, and I think this give me an advantage of making sure that I completely understand the students point of view, which would impact my teaching style as I would adjust accordingly for each student to match their needs. I am comfortable and certified in teaching Suzuki, and RCM material.

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
