She holds a BMus in History, Theory, and Critical Analysis from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MMus in Vocal Literature and Performance from Western University. Additionally, she possesses RCM certifications in violin and piano as well as training in the Suzuki method.
I believe in meeting students where they're at, working together to set goals that are both engaging and challenging. I welcome students of all ages and musical backgrounds to my studio, because I believe that music is for everyone. My goal as a teacher is to teach students to be their own guide through careful listening and self-analysis. I hope that every student walks away with a sense of fulfillment and joy in what they are doing. Equity, diversity, and inclusion is also important to me as I am a queer, disabled, woman of colour myself. To me, EDI means accepting people non-judgmentally regardless of ethnicity, cultural background, gender, sexuality, size, or age. I also believe in the power of communication, listening and asking students what they need rather than assuming. I aim to make every space I teach in an accessible one, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
I started playing violin at age 4, growing up with the Suzuki method. As a teenager, I knew I wanted to go into music and began learning piano in order to prepare for undergraduate piano proficiency examinations. I hold my BMus in History, Theory, and Critical Analysis from Wilfrid Laurier University, and my MMus in vocal Literature and Performance from Western University. I also have my RCM Grade 9 and Grade 7 certificates in violin and piano respectively. Because my undergad degree was in theory, I am very comfortable teaching and tutoring students in auxiliary skills such as theory and ear training.
I hold my Grade 7 RCM piano and my Grade 9 RCM violin. I have also taken the courses to teach Book 1 and Book 2 of the Suzuki violin method.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
