Teaching Philosophy

Music is at the core of who I am, and I believe it plays a vital role in the education and personal growth of every individual. From a young age, I discovered that music is not just an art form but a powerful medium for self-expression, creativity, and connection. My teaching philosophy centers on the idea that music is accessible to everyone and that each student has their unique musical voice waiting to be discovered. In my lessons, I prioritize creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel free to explore and develop their skills. I tailor my teaching approach to each student's needs, ensuring that lessons are both challenging and enjoyable. Whether we are working on mastering an instrument, writing original songs, or diving into the technical aspects of audio production, I aim to make each lesson engaging and rewarding. I believe that the process of learning music should be as joyful and inspiring as the music itself. I incorporate elements of play and creativity into my teaching, helping students to build confidence and find joy in their musical journey. I also emphasize the importance of discipline and practice, teaching students that perseverance and dedication are key to their growth as musicians. Every student, regardless of age or experience, deserves respect, patience, and personalized guidance. My goal is to help each student unlock their full potential, celebrate their progress, and instill a lifelong passion for music. Through my teaching, I hope to inspire students not only to become skilled musicians but also to find joy and fulfillment in the music they create.

Musical Education

I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a major in Music Production and Engineering, concentrating in Commercial Record Production. During my education at Berklee, my primary instrument was voice, and I studied a variety of vocal techniques, styles, and genres. My musical journey began at the age of 5, and I've had the privilege of learning from some of the finest teachers who instilled in me a deep appreciation for music and the discipline to excel. My education has given me a well-rounded skill set in piano, voice, music theory, songwriting, composing, and recording/audio engineering. I bring this diverse toolkit to my teaching, focusing on patience, encouragement, and fostering a love for music in each student. I tailor lessons to individual needs, ensuring that students not only learn technical aspects but also find joy and confidence in their musical expression. Whether they are interested in playing an instrument, writing songs, or understanding audio production, I provide comprehensive guidance and support. I encourage creativity and originality in songwriting and composition lessons, helping students develop their unique voice and style. My recording and audio engineering sessions simplify the technical aspects of music production, making them accessible and exciting. My goal is to inspire a lifelong passion for music, guide students in setting goals, and celebrate their achievements, no matter how small, in a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Special Skills and Trainings

In addition to my formal education at Berklee College of Music, as an educator, I hold certifications in advanced music production software Pro Tools and have in-depth knowledge and experience in DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) such as Logic Pro and Ableton. These certifications enable me to teach the technical aspects of recording and audio engineering with confidence and expertise. One of my most enriching experiences was working as a sound engineer, where I applied my technical skills creatively to enhance live performances. This role taught me the importance of sound design and its impact on musical expression, a lesson I incorporate into my teaching. These diverse experiences have shaped me into a well-rounded educator, passionate about guiding students on their musical journeys. My goal is to help each student develop their unique musical voice, whether through performance, songwriting, or audio production, and to inspire a lifelong love for music.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
