While working with international and multiculturally diverse pupils of the age between 3 to 18 due to my expanded knowledge of cultures and foreign languages, I developed a unique and achievement- based approach to pedagogy. The latter embraces the belief of a success as a continuous and consistent process to acquire a specific subject with an understanding of the importance of each element of the subject and its implementation. I teach children from the beginning at any stage of the student’s level, the independence of learning and teaching themselves as Music and Arts require a tremendous amount of self-discipline. However, it is a domain that requires solid guidance in order to establish a non-reversible foundation. Like Mr. Mandela’s quote starts: “Education is the most powerful weapon ...” By teaching children the purpose of learning, developing confidence and making constant progress with no trust in failure I indulge in understanding the meaning of the quote stated above. Not to forget to mention, my pedagogical philosophy consists in avoiding to explain excessively but rather teach through practical facets. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude in advance for considering my application in hope to be able to elaborate on my pedagogical approach in the very near future.

Schulich School of Music McGill University - Bachelor Degree

To whom it may concern, I graduated with a major in Piano Performance at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in 2012. I also completed a minor in music history. During my college and university studies I acquired an important experience in teaching music including all subjects, as well as choral singing and instrumental, choral and vocal accompaniment. I took advanced English classes and German classes. I have been teaching music which includes most private piano classes, but also violin, theory, aural training classes on the individual and small group basis, for more than seventeen years. In 2015 I started my private music studio in South Africa, Pretoria that expanded tremendously where I embraced more than seven areas of the town and taught students from private and public sectors of more than a dozen of schools. I work in a private international school in Pretoria as an extra-mural piano teacher. I taught for a few months at Diocesan school for girls in Pretoria through Alliance Francaise teaching English to a small group of children. And I am currently tutoring through Teach Me 2 South African platform for all subjects’ tutors since 2018. My business has always been running smoothly, constantly developing while keeping many students becoming regulars and reaching high level results. The management of the studio adopts all facets including constant phone calls, follow ups on the student progress, invoices design and payment history. It also includes concert and event organisation, as well as competitions, auditions and exam enrollment and preparation. I am a responsible, active person possessing remarkable organizational skills and I have a lot of energy. Uncomplicated by nature, I am able to be diplomatic and understanding. I am very patient and at the same time can exercise authority when needed with children. I am always in a good mood which helps to provide a pleasant atmosphere within the class structure and in a team situation with colleagues. I adapt easily and rapidly to children with different needs and learning abilities. The latter is a preeminent element in terms of pedagogical values to provide an approach suitable for each individual one on one or in a group. Dealing with unexpected circumstances and constant changes in the schedule developed my flexibility and tolerance. Your academic institution, system and focus attracted my attention, because I strongly believe and support the personalized and meticulous teaching-learning process. I always teach my students to correct themselves and eventually to be able to teach themselves and others what they have already learned. In addition, it is preeminent for me to regularly reward and disclose the efforts and the achievements in an artistic way incorporating new challenges. According to my pedagogical approach a success is a continuous and consistent process to acquire the material with good comprehension and its application, and the most important to share with love and passion, and not exclusively for grade sake and a done check mark. Therefore, after acknowledging the job description and the learning methodology of the school and results it engenders, I have decided to send this letter and my curriculum attached in hope to meet you in a near future and elaborate more on my experience and willingness to be part of your educational corp. Rates and Studio Policies
Registration Fee: $25.00 (One-time lifetime registration fee may be used by all family members)

Rates for instruction:
30 minute private lesson: $39.00
45 minute private lesson: $49.00
60 minute private lesson: $59.00

Travel charge: additional $15.00 per visit (for lessons in a client's home as opposed to my studio)

1. Cancellation Policy
Lessons not cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice are billable to the client and payable to the teacher. This does not of course apply to travel fees unless the notice is effectively given at the door and the teacher has travelled to the location.

2. Cessation (quitting) Policy
A client must provide a 2 lesson notice period to stop lessons. So a weekly student needs to give 2 weeks of notice, a biweekly student works out to 3 weeks notice and a twice weekly student works out to a week of notice.

3. Illness Policy
Lessons cancelled due to illness or extraordinary circumstances with less than 24 hours notice remain billable to the client and payable to the teacher.

BAH teachers are encouraged to offer a make-up lesson at a future date in the interest of client relations and general goodwill. This only makes sense as teaching a student with the flu for example, will ruin the rest of your week's employment.

No more than 2 lessons may be made up due to illness within a 60 day period.

4. Rescheduling Policy
Any lesson can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice.

Summer Vacation and Extended Absence Policy

Clients may schedule longer absences for trips etc. 24 hours notice is required.

It is normal and typical for students and about 20% of our teachers to schedule a break in the summer. We do not enforce a notice period (see cessation of lessons) at the end of a long summer break.

5. Evaluation Period
There are no free trial lessons with Beethoven at Home but we do offer a 2 lesson evaluation period where it is easy to try out a teacher. There are no free lessons during the evaluation period and clients may choose to discontinue the lessons at any time by providing the required 24 hours notice. After the student's 3rd lesson the required 2 lesson notice period will apply (see cessation of lessons above).
