Teaching Philosophy

Music is more than just notes and rhythms—it's a language of expression, creativity, and connection. As a seasoned music educator and professional bassist with over five years of experience, I am committed to helping you discover your unique value in the world of music. Whether you're a beginner just starting your musical journey or an experienced musician seeking to refine your skills, my courses are designed to inspire, educate, and empower you.

Musical Education

I have over five years of experience as a music teacher and professional bassist. My journey in music started with earning certifications, including Grade 8 Bass Guitar from Rockschool London(RSL) and Grade 8 Music Theory from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music(ABRSM). These qualifications have equipped me with a strong foundation in both performance and music theory. As a self-employed music tutor in Hong Kong, I prepared teaching materials, coached students on instrumental techniques, and helped them grow their confidence in music. I also worked as a live performer, collaborating with band members for various events such as mini concerts, wedding performances, and bar sessions. In addition to teaching and performing, I compose and arrange music in diverse styles. My ability to work across genres has allowed me to create original pieces and bring fresh ideas to performances and teaching. I aim to inspire my students by sharing my passion for music and helping them develop their skills, whether they are beginners or aspiring professionals. My teaching focuses on creating a personalized and enjoyable learning experience for each student.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
