My passion for vocal education derives from my belief in the transformative power of the human voice, and the joy it brings to both the teacher and student. As a vocal educator, I aim to build an environment where students can grow their unique voices and gain confidence in their musical expression. I believe that vocal music education is essential to students' overall growth, because it helps improve social skills, emotional expression, and strengthens cognitive abilities. The voice is a deeply personal instrument, and guiding students to properly use it not only improves their musicality but also their self-esteem. Through vocal education, students learn discipline, teamwork, and how to communicate emotion through sound—skills that are utilized beyond music into every area of life. Music, and vocal training in particular, gives a sense of community and aids students to overcome cultural and personal struggles, providing space for all individuals to be heard.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Specialized Honours in Music at York University and a Master of Teaching at the University of Toronto. My academic background is complemented by extensive hands-on teaching experience across multiple music academies, where I’ve worked with students of all ages and skill levels, from 4 to 75 years old. I specialize in vocal and piano lessons, tailoring my approach to meet individual student needs using creative methods like technology and visual aids to keep lessons engaging. In my roles as a Substitute Private Music Tutor and Volunteer Music Teacher, I’ve refined my skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and collaboration with other educators, especially in special education settings. I’ve worked with students ranging from beginners to advanced musicians, with a particular focus on adapting lessons to support vocal health, such as transposing tracks to suit vocal ranges. Along with my technical music knowledge, I bring a strong sense of empathy and relationship-building to my teaching, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Overall, my experiences have helped me develop a well-rounded approach to music education, focused on meeting the diverse needs of students and promoting engagement and growth.
Growing up, I had a unique opportunity to work closely with children, thanks to my mother’s role as a babysitter for over 15 years. This exposure gave me hands-on experience in supporting the development of young children, from teaching foundational lessons to assisting in their care. This early exposure sparked my passion for education and helped grow my ability to create engaging activities that hold a child’s interest. This experience has shaped my desire to work with students in school settings and has instilled in me the belief that fostering strong, supportive relationships is key to helping students grow both academically and emotionally.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
