My parents told me that I started singing before I could even talk as a child. They said I was gifted with a talent. I have done quite a bit with my talent but the most fulfilling was being able to share the art with others through teaching. It is so much more than just an art, for me it is meditation, dopamine, emotion, therapy. And so many have experienced that with me. It does not matter if you are not gifted or you think you don't have the voice. With the correct guidance and support, you can get there. During my lessons you will learn to tame your throat with various vocal exercises, train your ears to listen and recognize intricate notes and details, and master breath control. All these would be put into practice by learning new songs and in the process, you also find your style. To make things even better for you as a musician, I also like to cover music theory which aids in music composition and production. For successful learning, I make special efforts to create a comfortable, judgement-free and happy environment for my young students as well as adults. That class is to learn, de-stress and have a great time!
Gandharva Mahavidyalaya- Indian Classical Music (3 grade certifications) Bridge Music Academy- Trinity College of London for Music (Grade 8 certification in Pop & Rock Vocals)
I began my musical journey at age 5, training in Indian Classical Music at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Between ages 5–11, I studied vocals, synthesizer, guitar and tabla. Although I was learning Indian Classical, I would only enjoy singing Western music. At 17, I started formal Western music training at Bridge Music Academy, Chandigarh, studying Jazz, Pop, Rock, Blues and R&B. I passed Trinity College London's Grade 4 exam in 2016 with top marks and began teaching at the academy. In 2017, I earned a Grade 8 certification and served as Music Director for The Addams Family and later Robin Hood and His Merry Men school musicals, earning Trinity certifications in Plays in Production. From 2016 onward, I performed extensively- solo, in duos/trios, and with bands- across various genres and languages, primarily English. I found opportunities to work as a session artist, playback singer, and composer for jingles, anthems, and demo tracks, while also offering private lessons in-person and online for individuals and groups. In 2018, I resumed Indian Classical vocal training under Padma Shri Pt. Yash Paul to expand my vocal range and breath control. Since moving to Canada in late 2018, I’ve collaborated with artists as a composer and vocalist, performed at local venues, and released tracks with Punjabi artists. I’m currently working on original English music and training passionate students.
