My parents told me that I started singing before I could even talk as a child. They said I was gifted with a talent. I have done quite a bit with my talent but the most fulfilling was being able to share the art with others through teaching. It is so much more than just an art, for me it is meditation, dopamine, emotion, therapy. And so many have experienced that with me. It does not matter if you are not gifted or you think you don't have the voice. With the correct guidance and support, you can get there. During my lessons you will learn to tame your throat with various vocal exercises, train your ears to listen and recognize intricate notes and details, and master breath control. All these would be put into practice by learning new songs and in the process, you also find your style. For successful learning, I make special efforts to create a comfortable, judgement-free and happy environment for my young students as well as adults. That class is to learn, de-stress and have a great time!

Gandharva Mahavidyalaya- Indian Classical Music ( 3 grade certifications) Bridge Music Academy- Trinity College of London for Music (Grade 8 certification in Pop & Rock Vocals)
At 5 years old, my parents signed me up for singing classes to learn Indian Classical Music at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in Panchkula, a nationally renowned institute. From the age of 5 to 11, I learned Indian Classical, took 1 level of examination for vocals, synthesizer and tabla and passed with distinction in all. Although I was learning Indian Classical, I used to listen to and sing Western music. Learned to play basic guitar, table and harmonium during this time. Participated and won a bunch of local and national competitions. Participated and directed musicals and choirs during all of my school time. At 17 years old in 2015, I started formally learning western music at Bridge Music Academy in Chandigarh, where I started gaining in-depth knowledge about genres like Jazz, Pop, Rock, Blues, RnB and also some Western classical. Alongside, I was preparing for my Trinity College of London for Music's grade 4 exam, that I took in 2016, cleared it with top marks. In the same year, I started teaching in the same academy I was learning at. In 2017, I took my Grade 8 exam and passed with flying colours. In 2017 as well, I was a music director in The Addams Family musical at a local school, achieved Trinity grade 4 certificate in Plays in Production. In 2018, directed music for another musical at the same school, Robin Hood and his Merry Men, achieved Trinity grade 3 certification in Plays in Production. In 2016, I had started performing gigs, opening for other artists and bands, some of them established, in all kinds of concerts. Vast experience in performing solo, with a band, duos and trios and in different genres and languages but mostly English. Also an experienced layback singer and session artist. Composed and recorded jingles, team anthems, dummies for other artist's songs. I was also taking private lessons at my home studio, online and at the academy from 2016 until 2018. All of 2018, I went back to learning Indian Classical music from Pt. Yash Paul, Padma Shri award winner, to learn how to work my throat in ways that they do, increase my vocal range, and learn his ways to train my throat, ears and breath control. After moving to Canada in end of 2018, I continued taking online lessons and working with other artists as composer and singer. Also performed in clubs, restaurants and cafes in Canada. Released a couple of songs with other Punjabi artists and am currently working on some English music that is yet to be released.

Registration Fee: $25.00 (One-time lifetime registration fee may be used by all family members)
Rates for instruction:
30 minute private lesson: $39.00
45 minute private lesson: $49.00
60 minute private lesson: $59.00
Travel charge: additional $15.00 per visit (for lessons in a client's home as opposed to my studio)
1. Cancellation Policy
Lessons not cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice are billable to the client and payable to the teacher. This does not of course apply to travel fees unless the notice is effectively given at the door and the teacher has travelled to the location.
2. Cessation (quitting) Policy
A client must provide a 2 lesson notice period to stop lessons. So a weekly student needs to give 2 weeks of notice, a biweekly student works out to 3 weeks notice and a twice weekly student works out to a week of notice.
3. Illness Policy
Lessons cancelled due to illness or extraordinary circumstances with less than 24 hours notice remain billable to the client and payable to the teacher.
BAH teachers are encouraged to offer a make-up lesson at a future date in the interest of client relations and general goodwill. This only makes sense as teaching a student with the flu for example, will ruin the rest of your week's employment.
No more than 2 lessons may be made up due to illness within a 60 day period.
4. Rescheduling Policy
Any lesson can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice.
Summer Vacation and Extended Absence Policy
Clients may schedule longer absences for trips etc. 24 hours notice is required.
It is normal and typical for students and about 20% of our teachers to schedule a break in the summer. We do not enforce a notice period (see cessation of lessons) at the end of a long summer break.
5. Evaluation Period
There are no free trial lessons with Beethoven at Home but we do offer a 2 lesson evaluation period where it is easy to try out a teacher. There are no free lessons during the evaluation period and clients may choose to discontinue the lessons at any time by providing the required 24 hours notice. After the student's 3rd lesson the required 2 lesson notice period will apply (see cessation of lessons above).
