She studied at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and has trained with esteemed musicians, including members of the Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra. Fluent in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin, Kimmy strives to make learning both enjoyable and rewarding for students of all ages.
Starting the violin in a young age has developed my lifelong passion for music. I remember what it was like to start and although it was a tough journey, it is such a rewarding experience. I believe music is a profound way to express your emotions to others, with every note carrying its unique meaning of a story. Playing an instrument demands the same focus and dedication as mastering any sport or skill, and I strive to ensure each student, regardless of age, can approach this journey with confidence and enthusiasm. I am committed to making the learning process both enjoyable and valuable.
I began my violin education at the age of four under the guidance of Takako Nishizaki. Following that, I studied at the Hong Kong Performance Academy for Performing Arts for four years, where I received comprehensive training in performance, music theory, and composition classes. I have achieved my LTCL Diploma in both violin and piano, and am currently practicing for the FTCL Diploma. My current violin teacher, a previous member of the Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra, has trained me with precision, diligence, and high standards. I have attended multiple Masterclasses with violinists such as Elissa Lee and members of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. Additionally, I took part in the ensemble training held by Musicus Society, where I performed at the Hong Kong Cultural centre.
Gloucestershire Young Musician 2022, High Achiever Scorer at Golden Key Music Festival, High Achiever Scorer at ABRSM Grade 8
I have a LTCL in both violin and piano, and am preparing for the FTCL. Although I currently study Biochemistry at university, it has never stopped my passion for music. I continue my journey to grow as a musician by trying to perform in different events. My experience in teaching children at school gives me a unique perspective on how to connect with them and provide a fun experience in the same time. I have also conducted a dissertation on how music history has changed overtime, which has enriched me both as a student and teacher.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
