Fostering a love of music in my students and creating a positive learning experience for them is of prime importance for me as their music teacher. They need to feel supported and inspired as they learn to play the piano. It is important that I tailor my lessons to meet the needs of each individual student, based on their experience, skill level musical preferences and goals. I believe in giving them a voice in choosing the type of music they wish to learn. This will encourage them to develop their own repertoire of successfully mastered pieces, whether they are learning to play for enjoyment or to achieve a high level of proficiency. My lessons are a blend of creative expression combined with teaching fundamental skills and music theory. I believe that modeling, guided support, practice, and positive reinforcement will lead to successful acquisition of musical expression and skill.
I began playing the piano at an early age and performed at several concerts and recitals. I studied with master piano teachers who all contributed to my appreciation of various genres of music and my piano playing proficiency. I obtained Grade 9 certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and I am preparing to take the Grade 10 exam this year. I also completed the Royal Conservatory Pedagogy Course for teaching piano to children. I have taught piano to students from age seven to adult. I tailor my lessons to meet the needs and preferences of each student, whether they are taking lessons for enjoyment or to obtain the Royal Conservatory grades. To enhance teaching and learning, I incorporate rhythm instruments such as the tambourine and rhythm sticks into my lessons. I enjoy composing my own pieces and I encourage creativity in my students. My goal is to instill an appreciation and love of music in my students while teaching them the skills required to play the piano.

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
