Teaching Philosophy

Over the course of my career as a Music instructor, I have consistently worked to inspire and guide students to reach their full musical potential. My teaching philosophy emphasizes a balanced approach that fosters both technical proficiency and artistic expression. My philosophy centers on the belief that music is a powerful tool for professional growth, self- expression, cultural enrichment, but also spiritual and social-emotional growth. I emphasize technical mastery, including proper musical apparatus and sound production, and fosters creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love of music. My approach is characterized by patience, empathy, andadeepcommitmenttomystudents'success. Ipayagreatattentionin creating an environment where students feel supported and challenged, helping them to build not only strong performance skills, but also a deep love for music. Development of Students’ Skills: Throughout my teaching, I have helped students of varying ages and skill levels improve their technical abilities, from beginners to advanced performers. By focusing on individualized lesson plans and tailored exercises, I have guided students to achieve measurable progress, such as passing music exams with distinction and performing at recitals and competitions. Curriculum and Methodology: My lessons cover a broad range of musical genres, from classical to contemporary, ensuring that students gain versatility in their playing. Additionally, I incorporate music theory, ear training, sight-reading and improvisation to provide a well-rounded education. I plan, assess and report, while maintaining classroom management.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
