Lessons are available online, in his Toronto studio, or in students' homes.
I think the greatest gift music has given me is the ability to “play” for a living. To perform trumpet is to play trumpet and that is a big part of my teaching philosophy. I think proper technique and discipline are things we can learn from a teacher but it is important to learn to love music first. I am listening to music as much as I can and enjoy many styles and genres, my favourites being classical, alternative and rock. Playing trumpet has taught me responsibility, personal discipline and the importance of a strong work ethic. I think formal lessons are important to help guide correct technique which will then allow freedom to play.
I have completed both my Bachelors of Music Performance and Masters of Music Performance in trumpet from McGill University in Montreal. I am currently completing my Artist Diploma from the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory where I perform with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra. I have studied with members of the Montreal Symphony and the Associate Principal Trumpet of the Toronto Symphony. I have been teaching either tennis or trumpet to people of all ages since I was 15 and have attended pedagogy courses at international seminars.

I have been teaching since the age of 15, starting with group tennis lessons to young children and over the years teaching group and private lessons to people of all ages. I began teaching trumpet when I started studying at McGill university and have taught beginners who have never played to undergraduate students at McGill university. I have been a camp counsellor for 10 summers at a sports camp ages 4 to 16 so I am very comfortable teaching children of any age and am happy teaching adults as well!

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
