As a musician, writer, and teacher, I care deeply about nurturing a lifetime love of one's passions. With a love for music having served as both a beacon and motive for most of my life, I believe in prioritizing a foundational love of music from the beginning. I also believe this understanding to be the most beneficial and fulfilling factor in the bond between any student and teacher in their shared pursuit of a love of the craft. It's important to me that a student prioritize their well-being while maintaining their passion for the instrument. This means allowing for open communication regarding stress and anxiety, as there is little room for making music without making room for the desire to do so.
I have studied piano for over fifteen years as an ARCT pianist, serving as a private instructor for nearly ten years. I studied in Burnaby, BC in a music studio before studying under a private instructor: a UBC School of Music graduate. I have competed in nearly a dozen competitions and festivals associated with Carillon, BCCM, and RCM, receiving seven gold medals for highest-performing achievements in performance. In addition to my career in music, I have served as an instructor in English, public speaking, and debate.
In addition to my career in music, I work as an instructor in debate, public speaking, and English. I am very much at home when working with different learning styles and ages. I have taught in classroom and home studio settings, allowing me to easily incorporate a personal touch of care in adapting to diverse learning environments—with the belief to tackle any condition or challenge.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
