Within my 20 years of teaching piano and music theory I am constantly reminded that there is nothing more important than setting up a good musical foundation. Whether the foundation is in technique, listening, intent, or motivation, a good foundation allows me to feel confident in guiding a student's musical journey for whatever length of time they study with me. I have always seen myself as a facilitator of a student’s individual learning as opposed to strictly prescribing what they should learn and play. Although I teach using structured forms like the Royal Conservatory of Music, there is still a vast amount of value to gain in learning other forms of styles for example (popular, folk, world, etc.) Everyone has something say, and like works of art, exploring pictures and characters in music allow the music student or musician to further understand and communicate something that words would not be sufficient enough to express. When deciding to make music education my career, I realized firstly my job is to serve the music, uncover and communicate what the composer or style intended or requires; and with this, I am able to pass on this knowledge to my students.
I have attended the following schools earning the following degrees: • M. Ed. Masters of Education, University of Toronto, OISE • Royal Conservatory of Music Level RCM 10 Certification

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
