Teaching Philosophy

As a piano instructor since 2018, I have come to appreciate the uniqueness of each student and musician. Understanding that no two individuals are the same, I avoid rigid teaching strategies and instead tailor my instruction to cater to the student's distinct personality and skills. My ultimate aim is to empower each student to embrace their individual musical vision, cultivate their inner musical ear, and explore various styles of classical music. I believe in fostering the growth of the whole musician, recognizing that it goes beyond the sum of its parts. My approach focuses on providing a highly personalized learning experience that nurtures, educates, and encourages creative individuals to reach their fullest potential. I am dedicated to creating a supportive environment where students can thrive and achieve the highest level of success on their musical journey.

Musical Education

During my six years of professional study at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts (Grade 10 RCM, 2016) and the University of Ottawa (BMus, 2021). I have been fortunate to participate in masterclasses led by esteemed pianists like Janina Fialkowska, Andre Laplante, and Angela Hewitt.

Special Skills and Trainings

I have had the privilege of performing at numerous concerts for diverse audiences. These performances have allowed me to share the beauty of music and bring joy to both large and intimate gatherings, leaving a lasting impact on those who have experienced it. Additionally, I have expanded my training at prestigious music festivals, including the Orford Music Festival in Quebec and the Adamant Music School in Vermont, US. A particularly memorable experience was my invitation to study with the esteemed French pianist Jean-Paul Sevilla in Paris, France, in 2019. These enriching opportunities have shaped my musical journey and deepened my passion for the art of piano playing.

Our Promise to You

Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.

Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.

When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.

Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:

Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice

Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
