Music, like life, can be both structured and unpredictable. I believe we navigate the structure and its unpredictability through creativity and experience. As a musician who embodies both through my craft, I'm always ensuring that my students reach their objectives in timely, nuanced ways that they may not have considered prior to encountering my teaching methods. I also know that the journey matters more than the destination, as it makes up more of the time spent learning. For this reason, I prioritize comfortable environments, joyous conversation, and memorable mnemonics to further encapsulate the learning I impart to my students in a positive, lasting way.
- University of Guelph - Bachelor of Arts (major in philosophy and psychology, minor in linguistics and music) - Royal Conservatory of Music (Piano level 6) - Teaching music for the special needs program at Dolphin Senior Public School (gr. 8) and St. Marcellinus Secondary School (9-12) - Lead snare for 2 of my 4 years in the St. Marcellinus Drumline - Trumpet and auxiliary percussion for the Guelph Symphony Youth Orchestra - My principal teachers included comping, improvisation, and rudiment integration for diverse chops
RCMP Level 6 in piano theory
I've been playing piano and drums for the past 16 years, specializing in Baroque and Romantic piano, and gospel, R&B, and jazz drumming. This broad encapsulation of expertise from listening to the greats, my principal teachers, and family members, enabled me to develop the perspective to express my musical interest in both broad and technical domains. While being part of ensembles, orchestras, and drumlines, I also took up songwriting, composing, and playing in a band to further develop my appreciation for music and to share its beauty with my students, as a way of giving back to the community.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
