Cindy is a piano teacher based in Richmond Hill, offering lessons for students aged 3 to adults. She provides instruction in piano, music appreciation, music history, and RCM subjects, including theory, harmony, and history. Cindy holds an RCM Level 10 certification and has extensive experience in competitions and recitals. Lessons are available in-studio, online, and in students' homes across Aurora, Markham, Newmarket, North York, and Vaughan.
I think music should be fun for the student because practicing isn’t fun to most kids so I think it’s important for the teachers to have a good connection with the kids and make the lessons fun. I try my best to make ,y lessons as fun as possible for the students but also not too much fun where we are fooling around and getting nothing done. Sometimes I’ll bring little gifts when my students are doing well like stickers, or a little keychain, or a little toy to encourage them and motivate them to do well. I feel like this way they are motivating to do well without me putting stress on them.
I’m currently a student at the University of Toronto studying art and music. I have done many piano competitions and performances and have my RCM10 and other piano certifications. I’ve been teaching piano for almost 5 years now offering in home, studio, and online lessons to kids and adults of all ages. I’ve also been in charge of helping my piano teacher organize recitals like helping her with ticket sales, getting the students ready, helping her set up, etc.
I have my RCM4, 6, 8,9, and 10 including theory, harmony, and history. I also have a certificate for the international music competition.
Most of my training was done at home and a little online because of covid. I’ve helped my piano with recitals and I’ve also worked with sick kids as well (all the money made from ticket sales were donated to sick kids) Ive done all sorts of exams from playing exams, theory/harmony, and history. I’ve also volunteered and worked with kids with special needs. I have a learning disability so I work well with kids with disabilities because I understand them.

Home visit fee: $15 minimum fee. Teachers may negotiate a higher travel fee if the travel distance is longer than they are comfortable with. Most arrangements use the minimum fee.
One-Time Family Registration: $25. This covers your entire family for life - once you're in, everyone can take lessons!
Getting Started Together
We don't offer free trials, but we do something better - a relaxed 2-lesson getting-to-know-you period. You can pause anytime with just 24 hours notice. After your third lesson, we ask for a friendly 2-lesson heads up if you need to stop.
Life Happens - We Get It
Give us 24 hours notice for any cancellation or reschedule and you'll receive full credit. Planning a family vacation or summer break? Perfect - just let us know a day ahead and we'll pause your lessons.
When You're Under the Weather
If illness strikes with short notice (less than 24 hours), you'll still be charged since your teacher has reserved that time. However, most teachers are happy to offer makeup lessons when possible - they have the final say, especially if last-minute cancellations become a pattern.
Stopping Lessons
Need to take a break? We just ask for a 2-lesson notice:
Weekly lessons = 2 weeks notice
Every other week = 3 weeks notice
Twice weekly = 1 week notice
Summer breaks are different - no notice period needed when you return in the fall!
